Question:
Well I’m 20 years old and I’m in love with this guy name Cody. Well i used to be in drugs real bad and so i cleaned up and I’m going to school. Thats where I met him. Well I asked him to slow down on smoking weed and he has but I kinda want him to quit because if we have kids i don’t want them around that. i don’t want to leave him but I can’t stand this because it puts me down. What do I do?

Answer:
Hi.. my name is Daughter of Destiny:
Here’s what I honestly think..
I was in your situation once. I was involved in drugs and meet my husband while I was using. I had two daughters and cleaned up to be a good mom. I dedicated my life to Christ and everything changed. Eventually so did my husband and after he battled years of drug addiction he surrendered his life to Christ.

I know how difficult it is to be unequally yoked. This is not what God has planned for you. I stuck it out because I had children and wanted to do right for them. You dont have children and I commend you thinking of the future. If he loves you he should respect you enough to stop. He is destroying his body and mind. Our bodies are special places for the Holy Spirit to dwell.

I think you should maybe consider taking a break from him. Maybe some time apart will give him time to realize that your feelings, opinions, and this relationship is more important than drugs. You don’t need the temptation. Remember that its easier to be pulled down than to pull someone up under the weight of all their baggage. You must put your sobriety first in this situation.

I will pray that God give you the strength to make the right choice and stand firm on that decision. I know that matters of the heart are difficult but with God on your side anything is possible!
Love,
Daughter of Destiny
