I get your point but at the same time i dont understand what is wrong with hanging out with your girls friends and dancing with eachother (nothing sexual) but its not like we par-take in this whole drinking and getting drunk dancing dirty stuff…i mean not everyone is the same and do the same things when we go out we just like to have fun..listen to music…dance and enjoy eachother company…my struggle or ne one else’s struggle are not the same struggle you had with the clubs and lounges…

Trophy of Grace says..

There is nothing wrong with hanging out with your friends and dancing, but what are you dancing to? What are you truly celebrating? The lyrics in most of the club music is not edifying or encouraging. There is no life or true love in the music. It is ok to be young and want to have fun but don’t let the excitement of your youth cause you to forget your Creator. Honor Him in your youth before you grow too old and say, “Life is not pleasant anymore.” (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

If you are a child of God then you are a NEW CREATION this means that the old has gone and the new has come. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Before salvation we were in the world and lead by our sinful desires, but now that we are children of God we are to be lead by the Spirit of God. We are to live as children of light producing what is good and right and true. We are to carefully determine what pleases the Lord and not make excuses for sin and ungodly behavior. We are not to take part in the worthless deeds of evil and darkness; instead we are to expose them. (Ephesians 5:10-11)

Clubs and bars are not places for those who love and serve the Lord to hang out. Children of light have no business hanging out in places of darkness as a way of escape or release. We can sing, dance, and have fun but we are not to be conformed to the world’s way of doing this. Instead, we are to be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among ourselves, and making music to the Lord in our hearts. (Ephesians 5:19, Colossians 3:16)

I love dancing. I used to do the club season too just like Daughter of Destiny. However, the more I spent time with the Lord in His Word and in prayer the more I realized that I did not really belong to that atmosphere any more. The desire for the party life was not me any more, it was the old me.

I haven’t stopped dancing though. In fact I spent this whole weekend singing, dancing, and worshipping the Lord. It was AWESOME!! Friday night our church had a night of worship, Saturday night we went to a free Christian Concert, and Sunday’s service had an awesome praise and worship time as usual. So I partied the whole weekend with others who love and fear the Lord too. It was great!! I feel refreshed and renewed. I don’t remember ever feeling like that after a night of clubbing.

This is something that you have to take to the Lord. We have shown you several scriptures that address this topic and how we are called to live as children of the Most High God. All Scripture was inspired of God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip His people to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17) However, it us up to each of us to choose to accept the Truth or deny it so that we can continue to do what is pleasing to us, instead of what pleases our Savior. We will be praying for you sister..May our Lord touch your heart and may you overflow with love for Christ Jesus.

Sincerely,

Trophy of Grace

What does fun mean to you? Your question would be answered according to the meaning of fun in your life. If the “fun” activity involves sin, then it isn’t something edifying to God, the Holy Spirit will reveal it to you. When your “fun” is self-involved or indulgent it takes away from your faith and your witness. Sinful activity does not need to be a part of an activity to make it fun. There is plenty of joy to be had without sin. God wants Christian teens to have fun, there are some activities that may seem fun but can have long-term physical and spiritual consequences. Being a Christian is the most joy-filled and lively experience we can have. Others need to see that in us.
On your other question if you are a Christian you should not be talking to classmates that are involved in activities that you know are not acceptable to what we believe. The word says: Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will. Rom 12:2
You need to choose to let them know that you are not the same person they knew and that what they say and do offends you. By reading Gods word you will see the road map for our journey as Christians, we should be full of joy, we should have laughter in our hearts and be able to share the love of God with others and that will give you the fulfillment you need to be able to talk to your classmates and show them that they can have fun without using drugs, without drinking, without having sex and without gossiping.
My advice to you is be an example, don’t lower yourself to there standers, instead be a woman of integrity and have people see a change in you. And I will assure you that you will have lots of fun in your life. I will be praying for God to bring to your path other Christians classmates that would encourage you in your walk. Lots of Blessings
    His Precious Gift.

Thanks for the comment Ruth. This is some good advice. We just attended a Christian concert on the beach this past weekend and it was a blast.

There are alot of good Christian bands and singers with hip music. Here are some of our favs. Toby Mac, Mary Mary, Superchic, Barlow Girls, Kirk Franklin, Jeremy Camp, Firefly, Pillar, Stellar Kart and there are many more. We can go on and on.

    Thanks again for your comment.

I know that there are other ways to have fun with girl friends rather than go to the club.If you want to go dancing and listen to really good music. Try finding a La Familia Muzik,G-86,or other groups like that. They are Christian singers that have an up beat good to dance to music, but the music has a great message. I went to one of there concerts and it was the Best time I’ve ever had. They’re music is really cool, and they are so on Fire for God. So rather than go to a club and dancing to music that is not pleasing and uplifting to God try that. I know that you won’t get bored. Thank you.

    Sincerely,your sister in Christ,Ruth!
