When I was meditating on this scripture, I went to Merriam Webster to see what “pure” means in our modern language. The definition …

thank you very much for your answer. It has been a great encouragement to me. When I read the words “your husband is playing a game, and it’s called Manipulation.” it almost made me cry because just to hear someone admit it is almost unbelievable for me……He always says everything is my fault and I often feel this way - like I am ruining our family and he does nothing wrong…..I feel guilty and manipulated……I see that you wrote nothing about divorce, I understand you - it is a difficult thing to talk about because biblically I have no ground for that……but at least do you think i will still be saved if I divorce him? ( I believe that Jesus died for me and I really love God). But I understand that I will not have chances to get married to a christian man again in church and since I dont believe that it is right to marry a non-christian I will have to stay single for the rest of my life and never have children and I wont be able to take communion…….

Thank you again for your answer, I have been really waiting for it. My husband is a minister and leader and I dont really know who I can talk to not to ruin his reputation…..

“Those who are manipulated allow others the control that God alone should have (Exodus 20:3).” Also, could you please explain what you meant by this? By being afraid of my husband I am making an idol?

His Precious Gift Replies:

My dear precious sister:

I know you love the Lord with all of your heart and this situation is tearing you apart,I am honored you wrote us again and I will tell you that my prayers are with you. Here is Gods Word: You ask, will you still be saved if you divorce your husband? Yes you will. ( Romans 10:9) says ” If you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved”. Will our Lord be pleased with your decision NO. Gods choice is not divorce.

Salvation is a Gift, a precious gift. You can not earn it or buy it. According to John 1:12 salvation has to be received it can not be achieved. No self-effort,rules, or regulations can produce what God has presented to us as a free GIFT. “Free” not inexpensive. This is the most costly gift ever given. It cost Jesus His life.

romans-10_9to10While many of us have experienced feelings of rejection and some of us actually have been rejected by someone who should have loved us, the Word of God says we are totally and completely accepted by our heavenly Father (Ephesians 1:3-10)You are precious to God, (Isaiah 43:4) The prophet uses three words to describe God’s feelings toward His people: Precious, Honored, Loved, “You are precious and honored in my sight, and I love you.”

God hates divorce because it was not His original intention.”I hate divorce,” says the Lord, (Malachi 2:16) the only way divorce is permissible is sexual infidelity (Matthew 19:9) or physical abandonment (1 Corinthians 7:15).

You should always be careful who you talk to regarding your personal issues. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom and direction regarding who you should be seeking counsel from.

Sister, God has instilled within every human heart a sense of right and wrong Romans 2:15 says, “They demonstrate that God’s law is written in their hearts, for their own conscience and thoughts either accuse them or tell them they are doing right.” Just be willing to pray for your husband, I am a great believer that prayer changes every situation and as you humble yourself and pray for him God will reveal to your husband whether his actions are right or wrong.

Regarding Exodus 20:3, I should have had included verse 2 . God has control of your life, by letting your husband manipulate you he is controlling your life. Not our Savior……

I love you my sister and I pray that our Lord fills your heart with peace and joy, knowing always that Jesus loves.

In His Precious Love…..

*Please, my sister I suggest you read the book of Romans, it will answer many of your questions….
