i am a believer and my husband is an unbeliever. He is a very nice man but he is kind of addicted to masturbation. I don’t have problem having sex with him but days i am tired he is in front of tv and …I have got angry fought with him but since he does not know the lord it is also diffuclt for him to quit.

He doesn’t like to to listen to even one word of god. i have been praying but get discouraged.

He says he needs some relaxation after work and this is an outlet. Most of the days he comes back from work he is exhausted and ready to pour out all his frustration on me.

Trophy of Grace Answers:

Hello sister,

My name is Trophy of Grace in for His Precious Gift.

My dear sister I can imagine your frustration. Your situation reminds me of when I rededicated my life to the Lord. I wanted to serve Him with all of my heart, but husband still wanted to do things his way. I began going to church and studies trying to mature in my walk with Christ. When I’d come home I would know that my husband had been smoking pot because I could either smell it or see that he was high. I knew who I was in Christ so I began to take authority in my home. Of course I told him that I did not like it that he was smoking in our home because he was giving ground to the enemy to come in. Preaching to him wasn’t going work. So I began to pray over him while he was sleeping. I would lay my hands on his back and pray for God to deliver him from his addiction. I learned to pray the Word of God over his life. This went on for months before I saw real change, but God’s Word did not return void. My husband decided to start going to church with me and over time he began to realize that his addiction was not God’s plan for him. Today he is free from that addiction and we both serve the Lord together.

This is a spiritual battle that your husband is going through.casting_out_of_demons There is a terrible spirit of perversion that has a grip on him and leads his mind into temptation by helping him meditate on perverted and lustful thoughts. Masturbation has become his idol and he has made himself a slave to it.

I am going to tell you like Paul told the Ephesians,

“It’s time for you to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in the dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:10-12

The enemy is going to try to use your husband to pull you into things that will NOT honor God if you do not see this situation for what it is. A spiritual attack! Paul goes on to tell us to put on every piece of God’s armor so we will be able to resist the enemy. Read Ephesians 6:10-18 and learn to stand your ground.

You have spiritual authority in Jesus name to bind and loose. Jesus said,

“I tell you the truth, whatever you forbid on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you permit on earth will be permitted in heaven.” Matthew 18:18

“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by means hurt you.” Luke 10:19

Use the authority that you have been given in Christ Jesus. You have the power of prayer. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. Know who you are in Christ and be strong in Him. People who know their God are strong, and the can carry out great exploits. Believe God sees what’s going on in your home and is not pleased. He will strengthen your heart and will help you fight this battle. He is on your side. (James 5:16, Daniel 11:32, 2 Chronicles 16:9)

I believe it’s time for you to start praying over your home and binding those perverted spirits from having dominion there. When your husband is not home turn up the praise and worship music, enter into God’s presence with thanksgiving and praise. (Psalm 100:4) Then start praying and pleading the blood of Jesus over your home, family, and specifically your husband. The blood of Jesus represents forgiveness, deliverance, and protection. Pray right where he performs these acts. Pray that while he is there that he would feel the presence of God and the Holy Spirit would convict him about what he is doing. Ask that his own conscience and thoughts tell him that what he is doing in is wrong. (Romans 2:15, Hebrews 2:14, Colossians 1:13, 1 John 3:8, Revelations 12:11)revelation12_11_01

When he is home if you know that he is acting out in this manner begin to pray over him in the next room. When he is sleeping lay your hands on him and pray for him. I would also suggest going on a fast for a breakthrough in his life, for the blinders that the enemy has placed on his eyes to be removed. Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. Your husband needs you to stand in the gap for him, his soul is at stake. It is time to get militant and take authority over your home. (Isaiah 58:6, 2 Corinthians 4:4, Ezekiel 22:30-31)

You are not alone in this situation. There are many other who have experienced what you are going through and many others who are presently suffering in the same way. The Lord will not allow this situation to become more than you can bear. He will provide a way out. I promise. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

Now I also believe that you will need emotional, spiritual, and mental support. I encourage you to seek professional Christian counsel locally. If you can get him to agree to go with you then that would be the ideal situation. However, if he does not want to go then I believe you still need further counsel. This response is just not enough. Make sure that you have a support system to help you stand steady in the battle. I pray that you have strong godly women full of the Word, led by the Spirit, that would come along side of you during this season in your life. (Exodus 17)

I also want to encourage that this is only for a season. This will not be like this forever. I promise! The Lord will cause this to work out for your good because He loves you so much. (Romans 8:28) You just have to keep your eyes on Him, on His Word. That is where your strength will come from. That is where your faith will come from. Trust His Word..allow it to have first place in your life. Be sure to seek godly counsel and be sure that it lines up with the Word of God.

We will be praying for you sister.

Sincerely,

Trophy of Grace
