My Hero

MY Hero

The idea of being rescued by your very own hero is romantic and exciting. I probably yearn for a hero (the love relationship like Cinderella) because of all those romantic novels I read as a teenager and I still read to this day!!! Or how about Superman? There was never a more handsome hero than Christopher Reeve. There’s a part in the Superman movie where Lois Lane has fallen out of a window, when suddenly Superman swoops in and slowly flies her back to earth. While they’re flying, he says, “Don’t worry, I’ve got you.” And she says, “If you’ve got me, who’s got you?” And that’s when I realize that God has been my hero all along. He’s always “got” me. He is with me when I jump, or if I fall. He holds on and never lets go. He swoops in out of nowhere and always returns me safely. The best part is that no one has to “have” Him. He doesn’t require back-up. He flies solo because He can. And we don’t have to do a thing except trust Him. I know that many of you could use a hero right about now. We hope and pray but answers seem to be far in the distance. I know it’s hard to believe that we can ever be rescued, but God’s word says we can.

“Do not be afraid. Be still and watch the Lord rescue you today.” Exodus 14:13

See, I told you. We don’t have to do a thing. He is ready to rescue. He will always show up, and my guess is that when He does, He will be way better than that handsome HERO in uniform!! Let God be your all in all! Your one true love! And when you do that, He will provide the love and the right man He has chosen for you! Let God be the lover of your Soul!!!!!
