When I was meditating on this scripture, I went to Merriam Webster to see what “pure” means in our modern language. The definition …

Christians Don’t Get To Have Any Fun

See I told you, Christians don’t get to have any fun. Not when they’re single, and especially not when they’re married. That is when they have to “submit” to their husbands.

Thank you for your comment. This is a much needed reminder that no matter how content, happy, peaceful and joyful we as Christians can be, the world will continue to stereotype us in a way that justifies their behavior.

bigstockphoto_night_club_3948093Nonetheless, we recognize how you feel because we come from feeling like that as well. I remember the years I spent under the mindset that God was just out to ruin my life, that is of course, until I had gotten myself in some kind of trouble and I felt I needed HIM to get me out. It is an impossibility to hang out in places that promote no holiness and reverance to God and not get burned sooner or later. (Prov 6)

“Can youbuild a fire in your lap and not burn your pants? Can you walk barefoot on hot coals and not get blisters?”.

From the language to the dress code, the club scene is something that God simply says will lead you to no good. Sinful behavior is very enticing because it’s the only thing the old nature knows and yet as Trophy of Grace pointed out once we have been born from above, we are new creations (1 Cor 5:17). The club scene is nothing but a bank of tempation awaiting your every move toward a life of regret.(Galatians 6:8).

Is there anything wrong with having fun with your friends? Truly this depends on what fun might be for you. There are people who do hideous things for fun which I am sure you would find appauling. Therefore, Iconclude that there is absolutely nothing wrong with having fun as long as the rule is to bring glory to God. James 1:7 tells us that every good and perfect gift comes from the Father of Lights.

Love,

Gabie
