I Get Drunk And Tend To Preach To Others
Lady Hello says…
I’m 19 years old and I’m a bit confused with what’s right and what’s wrong. I know definitely that as a sinner I am going the wrong way and personally on my journey I am running away from the Lord’s call cause I’m scared, but the thing is that when I talk to others I still want to talk to them about God and even when I get drunk I tend to preach to others about Him saying how good he is etc and all that I’ve learned on my own journey. What I’m saying is since my path isn’t straight should I still encourage others to bring God into their lives ( like I preach when I drink or just preach in general or talk to them about God ) or should I leave it alone ? I say this because I KNOW that I’m a PREACHER and I dont WALK THE WALK. As in my spiritual journey is way out of line but I always seem to have the passion to preach to others ? you know what I mean ? lol Hope I make sense . Take care.

Hey there, I am glad you came to such a place as this to both confess how you are feeling and ask what you should do. Where you get your advice is of utmost importance (Prov 11:14).
Imagine being hired by someone like Donald Trump with enough pay to live an abundant life. Consider being out on the town and trying to share that you work for him with the goal of generating some business. How seriously do you think you could be taken by others and how would Mr. Trump react when finding out of your where abouts around town?
Now, imagine the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, Creator of heaven and earth, how do you think HE would like to be represented by someone who is really not able to trust HIM? Why would anyone be able to honestly take your word about a God whom you are too afraid to commit to?
While it is true that we are all sinners before and after our salvation the fact remains that we live under different expectations once we belong to the Holy One. If God has redeemed your soul and taken you out of darkness and placed you into the Kingdom of His Son Jesus Christ, that seriously means that you are no longer of the world but clearly have been bought at a very high price (1 Cor 6:18-20, 7:23).
I would greatly encourage you to seek God out and come to a realization of why you fear His calling in your life. The Word says that those who have been adopted into His family have not received once again a spirit of fear but one who can confidently call out “Abba Father” (Rom 8:15).
A Scripture that comes to mind with regards to the situation you find yourself in is (Matt 7:1-6). The Lord says that we are to get the log out of our own eye first before we can see the speck in another and point it out.
Godly and sound judgment require being in tuned with the Holy Spirit. When under the influence of alcohol one can hardly expect to hear from God’s Holy Spirit otherwise the Lord would have never exhorted us in Ephesians5:17-19 not to be drunk but instead to be filled with the Holy Spirit. Might I also lovingly remind you that included in a sad list of those who will be left out of God’s Kingsom are drunkards. (1 Cor 6:9-11).
How I hope and pray that you will surrender into the arms of the most loving Father, Savior, Lord and Friend so you can make the impact that only those who are called and equipped by God can make in this very dark world. Jesus told his disciples 2000 years ago in Luke 10:2 And He was saying to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; thereforebeseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.
Abba Father, I beseech you on behalf of this sister to please grant her your grace to believe. Help her to lose her desire to still remain in a world that has nothing for her and is passing away. May you fill her with your Holy Spirit and may she be able to trust in you always…To you be all the glory forever and ever amen, in HIM,
