Trophy of Grace replies…
I have been reading your comments and questions over the past month. Although questions are submitted anonymously, we are able to see the ip address which helps to see when a person is coming back frequently commenting. Last night as I was praying you came up on my heart. So first thing this morning I wanted to encourage you.
When I read your comment this is the scripture that came to my heart.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
This is Jesus speaking to us sister. He wants us to not to walk around carrying heavy burdens. He wants us to rest in Him. He wants us to put our trust in Him and rely on Him for everything all the time (direction, comfort, strength, hope, provisions, etc.) He wants to be Lord of our life. He wants to be our Savior. That’s why He died for us.
If you have accepted Him as your Savior then you are a child of God with a divine purpose in this world. (Jeremiah 29:11-13) Don’t allow yourself to be weary and burdened. Trust that our Lord is working everything out in your life for good. I love what John 14:27 says (this was a scripture I had to put on my bathroom mirror for almost two years),
“27Peace I leave with you; My [own] peace I now give and bequeath to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid. [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]” -Amplified Bible
Sweet sister, as you spend more time with the Lord through prayer, reading His Word, praising and worshipping Him, and spending time with others who have the Holy Spirit too you WILL begin to see a transformation in your life. Your mind and your will begins to line up with God’s desires for your life. You will no longer desire your old ways of doing or being. You will want to instead please Christ who lives in you.
Philippians 2:13 says, “For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him.”
The convictions that you speak about should not be feelings of condemnation making you feel awful, guilty, and ashamed. Instead the Holy Spirit gently convictions our hearts of sin. He helps us align our lives and the way we live to represent Christ Jesus so that we can be living witnesses for Him. We were saved for a purpose. We were saved for service, to help Him save others.
Ephesians 2:10 says, “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we CAN DO THINGS HE PLANNED FOR US LONG AGO.”
It has always been His plan to use us to bring Him glory. See for yourself what the Holy Spirit says here in 2 Corinthians 5:18-20,
“And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God HAS GIVEN US THIS TASK OF RECONCILING PEOPLE TO HIM. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people’s sins against them. And HE GAVE US THIS WONFERFUL MESSAGE OF RECONCILIATION. 20 SO WE ARE CHRIST”S AMBASSADORS; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
This burden that He gives us to live for Christ and to share the message of salvation with others should not be a heavy burden. Remember what He said in Matthew, “My yoke is easy and my burden is light”. Sister it’s easy and light because He is the One who is working in and through us. His Holy Spirit is the One who is guiding and leading us. The Holy Spirit is the One who is helping us to want to change and is renewing our minds as we learn more about God through His Word. The Holy Spirit is the One who gives us the Words to speak to others about Christ.
So you see sister all you have to do is rest in Him and trust what Paul said in Philippians 1:6, “I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.”
Don’t stess out about where you are at spiritually. Submit yourself to meditating on God’s Word day and night and you will see great transformation in your life.
My prayer for you would be the same that Paul prayed for the Ephesians,
I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.
We love you sister,
Sincerely,
