I Needed to Share This With Other Wives…

I needed to share this with other wives. I hope this helps someone.

I have been in a spiritual battle against spirits that long to divide and destroy my marriage. I have been feeling overwhelmed and tired, ready to give up. I have gotten to a point where I really don’t even like my husband, although I love him very much. I have been journaling a lot lately and asking God to help me through this. Today, as I was journaling, I got a major break-through and received direction from the Holy Spirit. I want to share with you what the Lord revealed to me…but before reading it, please take a few minutes and read Ephesians 5:22-24 & 1 Peter 3:1-2 out of the Amplified Bible—if you don’t have one, you can read them at www.biblegateway.com .

I just finished reading Ephesians 5 and 1 Peter 3:1-2 out of the Amplified, and I am realizing that I have some serious issues with loving, respecting, and revering my husband. As I read this, I feel angry because I really don’t feel like he deserves this type of treatment; but everything in me is telling me that if I were to learn to treat him like this and learn to feel this way for him, then our marriage would be changed drastically. But he is such a jerk!! But yet and still I love the lord and I love my husband…ugh. I just don’t like him very much. But I want to obey the Lord.

“If you [really] love me, you will keep (obey) My commands.” John 14:15

So I believe this is the instruction for me. These are the Holy Spirit’s commands:

1. Submit to him: “Be submissive to your own husband [subordinate yourself as being secondary to and dependent on him and adapt yourself to him], So that even if he does not obey the Word of God, he may be won over NOT BY DISCUSSION but by the godly life you live.” (I Peter 3:1)

2. Reverence him: Learn to feel reverence for him. It means to respect, defer to, revere him—to honor, esteem, appreciate, prize, and in the human sense, to adore him, that is to admire, praise, be devoted to, deeply love, and enjoy your husband.

3. Do all these things as a service to the Lord: Without grumbling and complaining, but in love and with a pure heart.

Well Lord, Holy Spirit I’m going to need your help. I’m going to need your strength.

He answered, “Meditate on these instructions day and night. Allow them to take root in your heart. Then you will be able to do as I have commanded. My Word will rise up in you. I will help you to change and accomplish this in your marriage. Keep your eyes on My Word. Then you will trust Me no matter what he does, no matter what comes against you.

“Remember always Isaiah 40:31, ‘But those who trust on the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.’”

He showed me that it’s when we stop trusting that we get weak. It’s when we try to control the situation that faith is blocked. Trusting in Him will bring you new strength every time! Then you will soar above the attacks.

He went on, “You will run the race and not get tired in Me. You will not faint and you will reap a harvest for the seeds of love that you’ve sown. You will be rewarded for your perseverance and endurance. Keep truly trusting Me in every area of your life. Especially in those areas that trouble your heart so terribly. I am in total control. I just need you to keep believing. Keep praying. Keep hoping in My Word.”
