Are All Pop Songs Bad?

pop-music-lAre all Pop songs bad? Because I really like Matt Nathanson and his song Faster.

Trophy of Grace replies…

Dear ILikeMattNathanson,

I am not familiar with Matt Nathanson, but no not all pops bad. Take a second and pull the lyrics up online and see what he’s singing about and then decide if you should be singing along. I am big on lyrics cause sometimes the beat to a song is hot, but the lyrics are straight trash.

You should take a few minutes and read our two part series called ‘Purity in Media’. Here’s a link to part one.

The number one thing to remember is that if you have accepted Jesus Christ has your Lord and Savior then you are a child of The Most High God. You can go to our heavenly Father and talk to Him directly about anything. Go to Him and ask Him what He would have you sing and dance to. Ask Him to bring you to good music that will encourage, edify, and lift you up. He has given you the Holy Spirit that will guide you and lead you into all Truth. He is given you His Word that will be a lampt to your feet and a light to your path.( John 14:26, Psalm 119:105) Trust the Holy Spirit in you :)
