You may be asking, “What do I need to be saved from?”

The answer is that we ALL need to be saved from the consequences of our sins.

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away.

We have left God’s paths to follow our own.
Yet the LORD laid on him
the sins of us all.
( Isaiah 53:6)

Sin—defined simply—is straying from God; wanting our own way instead of God’s way. Sin is being our own boss; our own god. When we are our own god, we call the shots, we say what goes; we do what pleases us; we do what we think is right in our own eyes. Sin is rejecting God’s way, God’s divine law (The Ten Commandments), and doing our own thing. The consequences of our sin is separation from God and death. (Romans 6:23) (Click here to read more on sin)

When we look at God’s Ten Commandments (God’s way of living) we can see that we ALL fall short of God’s glorious standard. Take a few minutes and look them up for yourself in Exodus 20:2-17. Put simply, the Ten Commandments say to:

  • Put God first

  • Worship God only

  • Use God’s name with respect

  • Remember God’s Sabbath

  • Respect your parents

  • Do not murder

  • Be faithful in marriage

  • Do not steal

  • Do not lie

  • Do not be envious of others

God says that if we are guilty of breaking even one of these laws then we are guilty of breaking the entire law. (James 2:10-11) The truth is that we are ALL guilty of breaking God’s law. Everyone has sinned. NO ONE measures up to God’s glory. (Romans 3:23)

You may be saying, “But I didn’t know..”

According to Romans 1:18-20, NO ONE has an excuse for not knowing and acknowledging God.

But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them. For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.

The women of WeUsed2bu love and care about your eternal soul. Therefore, we must tell you that there will be a day when each of us will have to stand before God and be judged for all we have done on this earth. We urge you to please repent and turn to God if you have not yet done so. Allow Jesus to save you from eternal punishment of your sins. Allow Jesus to create in you a new heart—a heart that is no longer a slave to sin.

salvationHow do we receive salvation from our sins? How do we have right standing with God? The answer is found in God’s Word. Read the scriptures below. May God give you ears to hear what His Spirit is saying through these verses:

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) (Click here to read our article, ‘Jesus Is The Way The Truth & The Life )

For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)

Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. (Acts 3:19)

Have your sins washed away by calling on the name of the Lord. (Acts 22:16)

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. (Acts 2:21, Romans 10:13)

But God is faithful and fair. If we admit that we have sinned, he will forgive us our sins. He will forgive every wrong thing we have done. He will make us pure. (1 John 1:9)

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. (Romans 10:9-10)

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. (Ephesians 2:8-9)

The Scriptures speak for themselves. Salvation is ONLY found through faith in Jesus; there is no good work that we can do to receive salvation. We DO NOT receive salvation by being good people. The only thing we need to do is repent, feel regret or remorse for our sins, and change our mind about how we have been living. Once we realize we have sinned against God and feel the remorse, we can call out to Jesus to save us, to forgive us. If we believe in our hearts that Jesus died on the cross for our sins and that God raised Him from the dead, all we need to do is confess it, saying out loud, “Jesus is Lord,” and we will be saved. (Take a few minutes and click here to watch this short video, ‘Good O Meter’ )

Today is the day of salvation. Don’t wait for tomorrow. You may not have a tomorrow. Jesus is knocking on the door of your heart now. Open up and let him in. He longs to have a relationship with you. The void in your heart can only be satisfied by God. That’s why that hole is there. Allow Him to fill you today.

You don’t have to do this life alone, relying on your own strength. Once you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He will send His Holy Spirit to live in you; to help guide and lead you all the days of your life. If you accept Jesus, your life will NOT all of a sudden be perfect. You will still have trials and troubles. In fact you may even have more because of your confession of faith. But God will empower you so you can face any circumstance. He will be with you every step of the way. He will NEVER leave you or forsake you. (Philippians 4:13)

If you have finally come to the end of yourself, humble yourself. Get on your knees right now and pray. Talk to God. Surrender your life to Him. Step off the throne of your heart and allow Jesus to take His rightful place there. He has a plan and purpose for your life. If you begin to seek Him first, you will find Him. (Jeremiah 29:11-13, Matthew 6:33)
