Untold Promises comments on the post; “Abusive Dad”
Wow, I am so sorry for that! I am amazed how strong you are. I would go crazy! I’ll pray for you too!
My father isn’t like yours that abuses you physically, but my dad has abused us verbally. He is a Christian but he says he feels so far from God and that God left him, etc. He has these little “pity parties” and he wants my family to join him but he doesn’t want us to give him advice! It’s so weird! He would say the most horrible things and we would try to encourage him and say God did not leave you but he would just get angry at us and say we are lecturing him. He gets mad when we talk about God, and yet he wonders why he feels so far from him… Please pray for him too, it’s been already many years and it’s hurting our family.
My older brother is as my mom says, “a prodigal son” because he did accept Jesus when he was little, but he has been hurt by so many people growing up that he hardened his heart and now he is doing wordly things; except, my older brother is so sweet inside. My mom says it’s all a mask because he thinks if he shows emotion it’s weak. I love my older brother but my father seems to not understand how sensitive he really is and says such horrible things! My older brother decided he wanted to move out. I’m going to miss him, even though he’s hurt me too a couple of times. At least I know he doesn’t mean it, and it’s not as much as my dad.
Sorry, I don’t know why I’m saying this, I just feel… like I need to let it out.
Your comment makes me so sad. Let me pray for you right away:
My Lord, Father, Sweetiest Holy Spirit,
I come before your throne now on behalf of my sweet sister. My God you see her pain and all that she has endured, as well as her family. I ask dearest Lord that you would give her strength and peace that surpasses all understanding as she trust in you, even in the face of these trials. I pray that she would never lose hope and that she would have an awesome revelation of your grace and mercy. Give her the words and compassion needed in her heart to pray for her family. Use her where she is at to share the love and forgiveness of Christ Jesus. Let her not get tired in doing good, but let her reap of harvest of perservance, patience, love, and mercy. Touch her father and brother’s heart and bring them to a place of repentance. Let their hearts not be hardened Lord, but give them ears to hear what the Spirit is saying. I trust you with this sweet sister’s life. Let her feel my holy embrace in her spirit, through your Spirit. Sending her a big hug right now. Let her know that she is loved and prayed for. In Jesus name. Amen!
Times like these are when we really have to get into the Word of God, the bible, so that we don’t lose hope, so that our faith is increased. His Word will sustain us in our trials and testings. Never stop praying. Never stop talking to God. He hears your prayers and sees your tears. In fact he has everyone of your tears in a bottle saved. He loves you that much! Isn’t that beautiful. (Romans 10:17, Psalm 55:22, Psalms 46:1, Psalms 56:8)
You can come and share with us whenever you want honey. That is why this ministry was started. We understand how it feels to feel like we need to vent, and needing a safe place to do that. You can talk to us about anything and you can be sure that we will pray for you and give you advice and encouragement based on the Word of God first and our life experiences. You are not alone.
Don’t worry about your family. Trust that God is in control, because He is! Stand on this promise out of Acts.
Acts 16:31 They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.”
I did and it changed the course of my family’s lives for generations to come.
Love you sweet sister,
